F.A.Q’S
Below I will answer some of the most common questions I am asked, along with some I feel parents may have thought of but forgot to say. If there is a question you have that has not been covered, please feel free to ask.
🌿 Do you work with children who are out of school?
Yes — many of the young people I work with are home-educated, on part-time timetables, or not currently in school due to anxiety, school trauma, exclusion, or burnout. I fully support alternative education pathways and build sessions around what works best for your child or young person.
✏️ What subjects do you tutor?
I offer specialist tutoring in:
-
English (KS1–Functional Skills)
-
Maths (KS1–Functional Skills)
-
Functional Skills English & Math’s for teens and young adults
I can also incorporate life skills, personal interests, or gentle project-based learning into sessions, depending on your goals.
🤝 What kind of family support do you offer?
I support parents and carers with:
-
EHCP and SEN processes (including prep for meetings)
-
Home education planning and guidance
-
Understanding exclusions and alternative provision
-
Emotional support and check-ins for parents/carers
This is flexible and can be booked as a one-off or regular support, depending on what you need.
🌱 What does coaching involve?
Coaching is a relaxed, person-led space for neurodivergent young people (up to age 25). It can help with things like:
-
Executive functioning (focus, planning, routines)
-
Navigating life transitions
-
Self-advocacy and identity
-
Confidence-building and setting achievable goals
It’s not therapy or clinical — it’s a validating space to talk, plan, reflect, or work things out gently over time.
💛 Do you work with PDA, autistic, or ADHD learners?
Yes – absolutely. My work is neuroaffirming, trauma-informed, and based on the belief that everyone deserves to be supported in a way that fits them. I adapt each session to suit communication needs, sensory preferences, and energy levels.
⏰ How long are sessions?
-
Tutoring sessions are usually 45–60 minutes
-
Parent support calls are typically 30–60 minutes
-
Coaching sessions are 45–60 minutes
Shorter or adapted sessions are always available depending on need — flexibility is built in.
📍 Are sessions online or in person?
This is individual to each family, the work I currently do is face to face and I attend your family home of a familiar setting to complete the sessions with your child or support sessions with yourselves. If online is what you’d prefer please let me know and that is easily sorted.
📆 Do you have availability right now?
Availability can vary depending on the day/time you’re looking for. Please get in touch or book a free discovery call to discuss what you’re hoping for and whether I have a suitable slot.
💷 How much do sessions cost?
Depending on the service you require will depend on the cost, this is individual and will be discussed in our first initial conversation.
🤔 I’m not sure what kind of support I need. Can we talk first?
Of course! I offer a free 20-minute discovery call with no pressure to commit. It’s a chance for us to chat, see if we’re a good fit, and work out the best starting point for you or your child.
